Return & Refund Policy

If you encounter an issue with your Ackee Tree Clothing purchase, please contact us before initiating a return. Most eligible items may be returned within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions outlined below.

All returns and exchanges require prior authorization. Items returned without authorization will be considered forced returns and may be refused or returned to the buyer at the buyer’s expense.

Returns & Refunds

Approved returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Original shipping costs and any expedited shipping fees are non-refundable. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrives damaged.

Refunds are issued to the original method of payment within 7 days of receipt and inspection of the returned item.

Any free or promotional item included with an order must also be returned for a refund to be processed.

We document product condition prior to shipment using photos and video to mitigate quality disputes.

Return Eligibility & Conditions

Eligible non-custom items must be returned unworn, unwashed, and undamaged, with all original packaging, within 30 days of delivery for a refund, or within 14 days of delivery for an exchange.

Damaged Items

Claims for damaged items must be submitted within 7 days of delivery and must include clear photo documentation of both the item and the original packaging.

For verified damage, we will issue a full refund or provide an agreed-upon replacement. Return shipping labels will be provided for damaged items.

Please retain all packaging materials, as they may be required for postal or carrier claims.

Event-Specific & Time-Sensitive Orders

Event-specific items are non-returnable once the event date has passed. Examples include, but are not limited to, Kentucky Derby items, holiday apparel, and seasonal accessories.

Any concerns regarding event-specific items must be communicated prior to the event date. Exchanges may be considered only if a craftsmanship issue is reported before the event and the item is returned prior to the event date.

Missed event deadlines are not eligible for refund unless expedited shipping was purchased and delivery by a specific date was explicitly guaranteed by us in writing prior to purchase.

Exchanges

All exchanges require prior authorization and must be initiated within 14 days of delivery.

Buyers are responsible for both return shipping and reshipment costs. Items returned outside the exchange window or without authorization will be refused.

Exclusions from Returns

The following items are not eligible for return or exchange unless there is a verified defect or confirmed sizing issue:

  • Final sale items
  • Custom or made-to-order items
  • Hair accessories (for hygiene reasons)
  • Jamaican bandana items
  • Large or bulk orders of identical items
  • Orders returned due to missed event dates without a written delivery guarantee

As a small made-to-order business, we are unable to absorb return costs for large or bulk orders when no product issue exists.

Cancellations

Orders may be canceled within 24 hours of purchase, and no later than 48 hours, provided production has not begun.

Once fabric has been cut or the item has entered production, cancellations are no longer possible. Orders that have shipped or are marked as shipped cannot be canceled.

Processing & Shipping

Processing times are disclosed on product listings and at checkout. Standard processing is typically 3–5 business days, with shorter processing times for select accessories as noted on individual product pages.

Shipping time is in addition to processing time. Expedited shipping affects delivery speed only and does not shorten production time unless explicitly stated.

Shipping Address Accuracy

Buyers are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address at checkout. Addresses cannot be changed after shipment.

Orders returned due to incorrect addresses are not refundable. Reshipment requires payment of additional shipping fees. Original shipping costs are forfeited on all returns.

Lost or Stolen Packages

Packages marked as delivered but reported missing are not eligible for refund or replacement unless postal confirmation shows misdelivery.

If misdelivery is confirmed by the carrier, we will replace or refund the item once the investigation is complete.

Packages confirmed as delivered to the correct address but stolen are not refundable. A discount on repurchase may be offered upon receipt of a police report.

Special Promotions & Free Shipping

Free shipping promotions apply to a single shipment to one address. Orders requesting shipment to multiple addresses may be canceled or invoiced separately.

We reserve the right to cancel orders involving pricing errors, discount stacking, or promotional misuse.

International Orders

International customers are responsible for all customs duties, taxes, and import fees imposed by their country.

We cannot mark international shipments as gifts. Orders may be canceled within 24 hours if duties are not acceptable to the buyer.
